HVAC Insulation Replacement at Central Elementary School

The Ferguson-Florissant School District is requesting to have the insulation that was originally installed on the HVAC pipe replaced. The insulation must be replaced with 1/2 " thickness or greater Armaflex or a comparable type of insulation. All visible insulation must be replaced in the hallway of the lower lever of the school. The insulation must be replaced with the appropriate diameter insulation for all pipes, fittings and valves. Insulation must be installed to meet all local, county, state and federal guidelines. Purchase Orders for items on which proposals are accepted will be issued to the lowest responsible bidder complying with all of the Terms and Conditions. However, the Board of Education reserves the right to make such selections that, in its judgment, are best suited and most acceptable for the purpose intended. The quality of goods, products, materials, equipment, workmanship and services shall be as described and must be to the satisfaction of the district representative. He shall have full power and authority to reject any materials furnished that, in his opinion, are not in strict conformity with the specifications, or equal in every respect to the exact item described therein. All goods, products, materials, and equipment furnished shall be factory new and any deviation there from will constitute just cause for rejection unless otherwise specified. The school District reserves the right to increase or decrease by ten percent (10%) the quantity of any item in the specifications on which proposals are accepted. If the proposal exceeds $10,000, the contractor shall submit with the proposal a cashier's check, certified check or acceptable bidder's bond payable to the school district in an amount not less than 5% of the amount of the bid submitted, as a guarantee that if awarded the contract the bidder shall promptly enter into a contract and execute such bonds as required. The owner shall require the successful bidder to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond prior to the execution of the contract. The bonds shall be written in the amount of 100% of the total contract price. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or any part thereof.
