Description

The major components of the Contractor's work includes: demolition and removal of the current pad; yard piping the site for water, sewer, and electrical; grading and paving the site; procuring and installing a packaged aeration system, including all ductwork and foul air treatment; constructing the bunkers for compost operations; and permitting, procuring and installing a fabric canopy over part of the site. The project work is located at King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) South Treatment Plant. The purpose of this project is to construct a pilot compost facility to evaluate an alternative process which will further process Class B Loop(R) biosolids into a Class A Loop compost. The work of this Contract includes: 1. Site demolition and clearing. 2. Construction of a bulk material bunker. 3. Construction of a biosolids bunker. 4. Construction of a mixed bunker. 5. Construction of a compost bunker. 6. Construction of a curing area. 7. Construction of a screening area. 8. Furnish and install precast concrete block wall as shown on the Drawings. 9. Installation of Owner furnished screening equipment. 10. Furnish and install mixer. 11. Packaged aeration system for the composting and curing areas. 12. Biofilter, foul air fans, ducting, and irrigation for pulling foul air from the composting and curing areas. 13. Design and installation of duct and duct support system. 14. Asphalt paving within the site. 15. Grading and site drainage trench and piping. 16. Relocation of electrical motor control center (MCC) and electrical cabinet. 17. Electrical power to the equipment. 18. Relocation of light poles. 19. Erosion and sediment controls. 20. Site water piping. 21. Installation of manual alarm station. 22. System testing and commissioning. 23. Final cleaning and site restoration. 24. Acquire permits for fabric canopy structures. 25. Furnish and install fabric canopy structures (one of which is a provisional item; noted as Bid Alternate). 26. And all other work as defined in the Contract Documents.
