Description

The Project includes the following Work: This project generally involves the repair of previously identified damages within an open-air stormwater conveyance channel. Work is generally described as the installation of a new steel sheet pile retaining wall and the selective demolition of a wooden retaining wall. Work includes removal and replacement of wooden decks, erosion control, dewatering, clearing, protection of nearby homes, site seeding/sodding, and installation of a wooden privacy fence. The project site is located north of the homes along Richmond Court. The stream flows northwest to southeast. Work is generally described as the following: 1. Installation of a new steel sheet pile retaining wall, selective demolition of the dilapidated wooden retaining wall and cross-ditch rakes anchored in concrete, backfill of eroded scarp with engineered fill, and installation of a wooden privacy fence. 2. Access will require the removal and like-kind replacement of two wooden decks. Like-kind replacement decks shall consist of treated lumber and comply with City of New Bern building code requirements. 3. Work shall require the protection of an existing HDPE storm pipe below the proposed construction access road.
