DESCRIPTION: LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION WORK AT THE NEW MUNICIPAL COMPLEX. CONTRACT TERMS: LUMP SUM (FIXED PRICE, STIPULATED SUM) WITH SUPPORTING UNIT PRICES. LAST REQUEST FOR SUBSTITUTION DATE: 7 DAYS PRIOR TO DUE DATE OF BIDS. LAST REQUEST FOR INFORMATION DUE: 3 DAYS PRIOR TO DUE DATE OF BIDS. NOTICE TO PROCEED: WITHIN 10 DAYS AFTER DUE DATE BIDS MAY NOT BE WITHDRAWN UNTIL: 30 DAYS AFTER DUE DATE CONTRACT TIME: 30 CALENDAR DAYS DESIRED CONSTRUCTION START: NOT LATER THAN 7 CALENDAR DAYS AFTER NOTICE TO PROCEED. REQUIRED SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION DATE: NOT LATER THAN 30 CALENDAR DAYS FROM NOTICE TO PROCEED. REQUIRED FINAL COMPLETION: NOT LATER THAN 45 CALENDAR DAYS FROM NOTICE TO PROCEED. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: $250.00 FOR EACH DAY THAT THE WORK REMAINS UNCOMPLETED.WORKING DAYS LOST DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER OR OTHER UNFORESEEN EVENTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE OWNER ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR CONSIDERATION. THE OWNER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE SCHEDULE OR TERMINATE THE ENTIRE PROCUREMENT PROCESS AT ANY TIME. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION, BIDS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON COMPLETE ORIGINAL PROPOSALS MADE AVAILABLE BY THE OWNER. QUALIFICATIONS: TO DEMONSTRATE QUALIFICATION FOR PERFORMING THE WORK OF THIS CONTRACT, BIDDERS MAY BE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT WRITTEN EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL POSITION AND LICENSE TO PERFORM WORK IN THE STATE AND CITY OF SEMMES. BID SECURITY: BIDS SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SECURITY DEPOSIT AS FOLLOWS; CASHIERS CHECK DRAWN ON AN ALABAMA BANK, OR A BID BOND OF A SUM NO LESS THAN 5% OF THE BID AMOUNT ON AIA A310 BID BOND FORM, BUT IN NO EVENT MORE THAN $10,000. PROOF OF INSURANCE COVERAGES OF THE TYPES AND AMOUNTS AS SET FORTH IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE CONTRACTOR, AND ANY AND ALL SUBCONTRACTORS, PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK AMOUNTING TO AT LEAST 30% OF THE TOTAL CONTRACT COST WITH HIS OWN ORGANIZATION. THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL BIDS IS RESERVED.
