Description

SOLICITATION TITLE: ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR CTC AVIATION TECH FACILITY This request intends to engage a single firm to provide architectural and engineering design, permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout services for a new educational facility to accommodate the relocation and expansion of the existing Charlotte County Public Schools, Charlotte Technical College, FAA- certified Aviation Maintenance Technician School. The general program components include multiple classrooms, work/conference room, breakroom, administrative offices and aircraft maintenance and repair hangar. Additional required components may be identified during the program process and incorporated within the facility design. The academic program will accommodate 150 adult student capacity with classroom instruction and hands-on mechanical training within the hangar facility. Site improvements include 100-spot parking lot, vehicular drive access from the PGD Air Center and required stormwater management. Planning for relocation and adaptation of existing instructional equipment and aircraft components from the existing facility to the new facility is included in the project scope. The complete examination and understanding of the solicitation documents, and all addenda or other revisions, and site of the proposed work is necessary to properly submit a proposal. Sponsors are required to set goals for minority participation in AIP funded projects exceeding $10,000. The goals for minority participation derive from Economic Area (EA) and Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA) as established in Volume 45 of the Federal Register dated 10/3/80. EAs and SMSAs span state boundaries. A sponsor may have to refer to entries for adjacent states in order to locate the goal for the project location. Female Participation. Executive Order 11246 has set a goal of 6.9% nationally for female participation for all construction projects. This value remains constant for all counties and states.
