Description | Reference Number: 0000313127 Blissfield is accepting bids for the 2023 Fog Seal project including several streets within the Village of Blissfield pursuant to the bid documents. General Requirements - Contractors License Required - Insurance Required Questions are submitted online: No Areas to be fog sealed will be thoroughly swept/cleaned prior to application of fog sealing. The contractor shall dispose of any materials/debris resulting from cleaning and/or preparation of areas to be fog sealed.Prior to paving, all structures shall be sprayed with a substance that will prevent paving materials from sticking to them. Said substance shall be removed after paving. The Village will be responsible for any structure adjustments that may be needed. The chip and seal application shall be applied to the existing pavement in the following manner: The chip and seal shall be placed at an even course depth. The machine to be used must be capable of placing the chip and seal covering the total width of the street in two (2) passes (or in as few as practicable). A course of emulsified fog sealing shall then be applied to the chip and seal. All aggregates used in the chip and seal shall be washed crushed natural aggregate, no larger than 3/8" in diameter. The fog sealant shall then be rolled with roller. Fog sealing shall not be applied in gutters, for those streets that have them. All necessary traffic control, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and other items incidental to the work being performed shall be included in the Contractor's unit price for this contract. Such items will not be bid or paid for separately but shall be included in the overall unit price. The bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment, and other means necessary or proper for performing and completing the work. |
