Description | For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for replacement and/or rehabilitation of sanitary, storm, and water structures. The work will include replacement of approximately of 1 sanitary structure, 13 storm structures, 56 storm inlets and 12 water structures and rehabilitation of approximately of 109 sanitary structures, 39 storm structures, 39 storm inlets and 21 water structures. Also included are 1 sanitary sewer main point repair, 1 sanitary sewer main abandonment, 4 storm sewer main repairs and 2 lead water service replacements. The work under this contract is associated with the City's 2023 Street Rehabilitation Contract. All structure replacement-rehabilitation must be completed in a timely manner in advance of the street rehabilitation. All bidders shall bid in accordance with contract document's Section 2 'Information to Bidders'. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. The determination of the lowest responsible and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. If applicable, Federal Davis Bacon wage rates are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk's Office. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 45 days after the actual date of the bid opening. |
