Description | Addition and remodel at the existing Amity High School to relocate the existing Amity Middle School to the high school. The scope of work will add student capacity for Amity School District to alleviate capacity pressure on Amity Elementary School by adding the fifth grade to the middle school. The District intends to create the new middle school on the existing high school site resulting in a shared-use facility. The scope of the middle school replacement will include renovation of existing high school spaces as well as additional square footage. The new middle school scope may include eight new classrooms at the high school site as well as renovated science, gymnasium, and classroom spaces. Existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems will need further study to determine the extent of systems replacements required. All Amity High School programs displaced by the middle school addition will need to be relocated to the newly designated high school portion of the site. The work may include a new competition gymnasium with associated locker rooms and team room, a new library, new art and science classrooms, as well as some new general education classroom spaces. The existing Amity Elementary School will be getting new security updates potentially, including but not limited to door access controls and a secured vestibule at the front entry. This solicitation does not obligate the Owner to pay any costs incurred in preparation of Proposals. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Proposal that is not in compliance with all prescribed requirements. For good cause, the Owner may reject any or all Proposals upon a written finding that it is in the public interest to do so. This project is prevailing wages.
