Cold Mix Paver Wedging and Hot Oil Chip Seal Coating

Sealed bids are requested for the cold mix wedging and aggregate seal coating including the cleaning of the road surface and any cold mix hand patching required for various roads in the Town of Empire, Fond du Lac County. Bids will be for a full 1 1/4 average compacted depth cold mix wedge on various sections totaling 3.75 miles. In addition the bid is to include cold mix wedging only on various sections of roads totaling approximately 375 tons and full single hot oil chip seal coat using F-1 Granite Blackstone on 4.66 miles of road. Bids shall be submitted with a separate cost stated for each road segment. Seal coat chip & seal shall be in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Bids must be accompanied by proof of Workman's Comp. coverage. The bid will be awarded at the monthly Town Board meeting to be held June 8, 2022, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Town hall. Bidders are advised that the Town of Empire reserves the right to postpone payment for said seal coat and wedging until Nov. 30, 2022. To be eligible to bid, the contractor will have a minimum of five years' experience in cold mix paving and hot oil seal coating and be prepared to supply the road superintendent a list of five references of projects that have been completed by the contractor. The Town of Empire reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, or to accept any bid which, in the judgment of the Town Board, may be most advantageous to the Town. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
