Description

Mingo County Schools will accept sealed bids for the CTE Classrooms workshops to be located at Tug Valley High School, 50 Panther Blvd, Williamson, WV. Sealed bids will be received by Mingo County Schools, 110 Cinderella Road, Williamson, WV 25661. The scope includes construction of new 4,188 sf Career and Technical Education (CTE) Classrooms, Workshops and training spaces at Tug Valley High School and the multiple CTE programs. The new building will be slab on grade with exterior load-bearing masonry walls with masonry veneer and metal panels. The low slope roof will have an EPDM membrane over exposed steel structure to some interior spaces. There will be suspended acoustical tile ceilings, mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) and Electrical Systems. The design also includes aluminum storefront systems, windows and security glazing and interior stud walls with gyp board. Finishes include painting, stained concrete flooring and resilient base. Sitework to accommodate building requirements such as site demo rading, fill areas, retaining walls, asphalt areas, utility work as required-ocumented. All work to be accomplished in accordance with the drawings and specifications prepared by E.T. Boggess Architect, Inc. All bids must be enclosed in sealed envelope bearing the name "CTE Classrooms orkshops." Faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids may be mailed or delivered to Rodney McCoy at Mingo County Schools, 110 Cinderella Road, Williamson, WV, 25661 if received prior to bid date. All general contractors bidding the project are encouraged to attend the meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions and other relevant information. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment with regards to races, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with the requirements for Affirmative Action and Minority Business Enterprises participation as described in the Federal Specifications insert to the Contract Documents. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Copeland Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the West Virginia Code 21-1D-5 requiring a Drug Free Workplace. Any and all construction must be in conformance with all applicable state and federal regulations. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid and prior to entering contract. No Bid shall be waived or returned because the Bidder failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the Plans, Specifications, or any applicable statutes of the United States, the State of West Virginia and r local ordinances. Boggess Architect, Inc. 101 Rockledge Avenue, Princeton, WV 24740 All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect and the Form of Proposal. Mingo County Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time of opening of the bids. Pursuant to Chapter 21-Article 11 of the "West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act" of 1991, all Contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State, the Contractors WV License number must be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contracts and agreements. The Mingo County Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its procurement policies, practices or procedures. The Mingo County Board of Edu-cation or designee reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make such selection by item or total bid amount as deemed to be in the best interest of Mingo County Schools.
