Description | Excavation and replacement of footer drains in rear building #2 only TMHA estimates 94.5’ of footer drain in the front(south), 94.5’ of footer drain in the rear(north), and 65’ of footer drain on the side(west) will be excavated and replaced in the base bid. Once footer is exposed, contractor shall camera footer line at building #1 to ensure line is open and functioning. Contractor to provide a video in digital format to owner rep. No other work for building #1 shall be required under base bid. Footer drain shall be replaced with 4” perforated PVC drain. Discharge line shall be 4” PVC. Verify this matches existing and discuss any differences prior to installation. Three cleanouts shall be provided in the new footer drain. Location shall be determined in the field. All new footer drain line shall be placed as indicated on existing as-built drawings. Refer to a-5 and a-5a. Install filter fabric to wrap entire stone bed on the top, bottom and sides. New line shall be on top of at least 4” of washed gravel ½” to ¾” in size, with at least 6” above pipe and 4” on sides. Total gravel/stone depth shall be 14”. Fill to grade shall be of material similar to that shown on drawing showing representation of work expected Replacement of the discharge portion of the footer drain on the west side of the building. This portion of the drain shall consist of non-perforated PVC and shall terminate at daylight at the woods line on the west side of the property. The line was originally tied into the catch basin/storm line on the west side of the building however, it appears positive fall is not possible therefore, it will be necessary for the line to terminate at the woods line. Ensure proper fall and operation of the footer drain. All new lines shall be inspected by designated TMHA personnel, or consultant, prior to covering. Failure of contractor to notify, at least 48 hours in advance for inspection shall result in re-excavation, at sole cost of the contractor. All excavated areas shall achieve final grade of 5% slope which allows ground water to flow away from the building and not towards it. NOTE: Some additional excavation may be necessary to achieve this, especially on the front(south) side of the building. Topsoil and seeding shall be included in base bid to allow for a professional finished job. |
