County Roads Resurfacing

The existing pavement on various county roads by means of resurfacing the existing pavement with 448 asphalt concrete per Allen County specification. The resurfacing will consist of an average thickness of 1-1/2” of asphalt concrete to match the width of the existing pavement. A tack coat will be applied on the existing pavement before resurfacing. 448 Asphalt Concrete shall have minimum bitumen content of 6.2% and may contain a maximum of 10% recycled material. Aggregate to be used in hot mix shall be stockpiled, for sampling by county and testing at least two weeks before being used in hot mix. Stone stockpiles not passing Allen County Engineer’s specifications as result of testing, shall be rejected for use in this contract. Total number of miles being resurfaced is approximately 11.39 miles. Also included in the project are 1,568 square yards of asphalt planning and 44 butt joints at various project termini and intersections. All of the roads, as listed on the project list, will require flaggers.
