NBIS Inspection of State Owned Bridges in Philadelphia County

Part 1 The Department shall retain an engineering firm to perform NBIS PONTIS (SNBIBE) Bridge Safety Inspections for an estimated four hundred and four (404) Philadelphia County State Owned Bridges greater than 20 foot in length. Two biennial bridge inspections will be performed on each bridge over a four year period for a total of eight hundred and eight (808) field bridge inspection reports. The chosen Consultant will also be called upon to perform Interim inspections on the Philadelphia County Inventory of Posted Bridges, Structurally Deficient Stone Arch, and Structurally Deficient Fracture Critical Bridges, on their required inspection intervals. Flood Inspections of Scour Critical Bridges will also be performed on an as needed basis. In addition, a mechanical and electrical inspection on the University Avenue and Passyunk Avenue Bridges may be required.The selected firm will be familiar with the PONTIS/ (SNBIBE) Element method of inspection, electronic reporting, as well as the Departments BMS2 Bridge Management System.The selected Consultant will be responsible for overseeing the Sub Consultant(s) work quality.
