Description

This project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to rehabilitate existing generator enclosures and connect existing Generators No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 to remote radiators. The Work includes, but is not limited to demolition and modification work; mechanical connections of existing generators to four (4) proposed remote radiator system units; electrical connections; furnishing and installing piping, valves, fittings, supports, wiring and all appurtenant items and work as follows: 1. At Generator Units 1, 2, 3, and 4: Remove radiators and modify enclosure frame, roof, floor, walls, of existing Generators 1, 2, 3, and 4; floor beams, access doors; remove and dispose of existing ventilation fan inlet for generators 1, 2, 3, and 4; removal of 4 stack metal covers; removal mufflers from generator 3 and 4; removal of existing piping and fittings; remove existing fuel oil day tank and dispose; remove existing grounding resistors; legal disposal of all removals and debris from demolition at an approved site including but not limited to, removing, loading, transporting, and unloading, and paying tipping fees; modify air intake and install hoods over air intakes; furnish and install exhaust hoods and exhaust fan guards; furnish and install new double wall fuel oil day tank (130 gallon) [UL-142] one (1) per Generator by OEM (no substitution allowed); furnish and install mechanical level gauge and leak detector switch; furnish and install Gems programable safe-pack relays for pump control and low and high alarms, furnish and install a 4- position level switch at Generator #2 day tank; furnish and install new wind driven rain resistant stationary louvers at air intakes; furnish and install eight (8) new exhaust fans (2 per generator); furnish and install new doors; furnish and install motor control and appurtenant equipment; furnish and install cooling water pipe connection between existing engine and proposed radiator units; install Department furnished mufflers Generator 3 and 4; furnish and install stack covers; paint generator enclosures; furnish and install piping, valves, fittings, supports; furnish and install neutral grounding resistors (NGR); furnish and install electrical conduits, cables, raceways, disconnect switches and grounding systems; modification of existing electrical conduits and electrical systems; pull wire through existing conduits; electrical work; furnish and install PVC drain pipe to Fuel Oil pipe chase; furnish and install equipment shield canopy; paint all generators entirely; and all appurtenant items and work for a complete, satisfactory, and functional installation.
