Description | The City of Burlingame (Burlingame or City) is accepting Proposals from qualified firms (Proposer or Contractor) to provide Tree Pruning & Stump Removal for City owned trees in Burlingame, California. The significant weather events of Winter 2023, saw many mature trees fail or experience levels of unseen instability. To reduce the likelihood of failure during extreme weather events, the City is considering pruning or removal of several mature Eucalyptus trees in the area noted above. Stump removal is only required where trees are removed on Burlingame Avenue, Easton Drive and Oak Grove Avenue. Exhibit G expresses the specific prescribed work . The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify a Contractor that can provide the City with the best possible tree care to maintain the City's Urban Forest at a level expected by the Citys residents, City Council, City staff, and visitors of the community. The selected Proposer will work closely with the City staff to ensure the most appropriate care of the Citys Urban Forest with sensitivity to the City, its residents and visitors. These specifications are part of the RFP. The Contract for services resulting from this RFP shall include the furnishing of all labor, materials and services as set forth in in this RFP. All work must be completed by November 30, 2023 Proposals will be examined, evaluated, and as appropriate, recommended for approval to the Burlingame City Council at a meeting within approximately sixty (60) days after the final date of Proposal acceptance. City reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Proposal or in the RFP procedures, or to postpone the final date of Proposal acceptance or award for good cause. City hereby notifies all Contractors that it will affirmatively ensure that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this RFP, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit Proposals in response to this request and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual preference, marital status, or gender identity in consideration for an award. The successful Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against on the basis of age, color, race, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual preference, marital status, or gender identity; and shall comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Submittals shall be in accordance with the requirements set forth in the RFP documents. Submission of a Proposal shall constitute a firm offer to City.
