Description | ***Contractors must purchase bid documents from Diversified Engineering and be added to their plan holders list to be considered eligible to bid.*** The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials not provided by owner and equipment necessary to construct, but not limited to the following: (4) 2x2 catch basins, 1,986 feet of 12 waterline, 140 feet of 6 waterline, (9) 12 gate valves, (3) 6 gate valves, (14) service connections, (3) hydrant assemblies, (5) connections to the existing water system, and 5,177 SY of 3 mill & overlay. Engineer s Estimate of Probable Construction Cost (base bid): $399,135.50. Engineer s Estimate of Probable Construction Cost (alt. bid): $84,440.50. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of 5% of the amount bid or a bid bond in the amount of 100% of the amount bid. Bid bonds provided from this contract shall be underwritten by a surety that is licensed by the State of Ohio superintendence of insurance to execute such bond in the state. All bonds shall affirmatively state on their face that the surety is authorized to execute bonds in the state and that liability incurred is within the limits of Section 3929.02 of the Ohio Revised Code. The bid bond shall be made payable to the City of New Philadelphia and shall serve as a guarantee that in the event the proposal is accepted and a contract is awarded to the successful bidder, the contract will be executed by the bidder from the bond submitted with the bid. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labour in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Tuscarawas County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration (614.644.2239). Bids shall be subject to the condition that the right is reserved to hold bids for a period not longer than 60 days after date of opening and to award at any time during that period. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to increase, to decrease or omit any items or items and/or to award to the lowest and responsible, responsive bidder. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid received. |
