Description

The restoration and repairs of windows at the Walker Memorial Library, located at 800 Main Street, Westbrook. The scope of this project is to provide 60 storm windows for the historic 1894 building. Prior to installing the storm windows, 27 stained glass windows must be removed, repaired and replaced. The project consists of the following tasks: A. Removal and reinstallation of twenty-seven (27) stained glass sash. Includes: 1. Removal of sash and weatherproofing empty jambs as necessary. 2. Restoration of sash and framing. Painting and touch-up paint, interior and exterior. 3. Installing sash in opening and sealing perimeter as necessary. B. Restore twenty-seven (27) leaded stained glass windows. Includes: 1. Supervision of removal process and transport of panels to the studio. 2. Removal of leaded glass from sash and complete dismantling of leaded panels. 3. Cleaning of glass. 4. Replacement of broken or mismatched glass. 5. Complete releading, puttying, reinstallation of restored leaded panel into wooden sash. 6. Delivery of restored windows to the job site. C. Install sixty (60) storm windows. Includes: 1. Removal and disposal of existing storm panels 2. Repairing the exterior casing and surface for mounting new storms. 3. Custom color storms to match existing casing. 4. Cleaning exterior of primary window glass prior to installation of new storm panels.
