As of August 15, 2022, subcontractor bidding for the project has closed and construction is expected to commence in late October, 2022. Bids for this project were read aloud during the public bid opening; there are no bid tabulations available. HAND Construction Company is accepting sealed bids from qualified subcontractors for the construction of a 70-unit affordable senior apartment building. Bids needed: plumbing, foundation, rough carpentry, hvac, electrical, light fixtures, low voltage, fire sprinklers, windows, mirrors/shower enclosures, stucco, roofing, insulation, drywall, paint, suspended grid ceiling, gypcrete/pli-dek, finish carpentry, cabinet/tops, flooring/tile, automatic door, appliances, solar photovoltaic, blinds, fire extinguishers, railings, elevator, outdoor furnishings, signage, striping, and clean up. Work is subject to HUD approval of the environmental review. Without HUD approval, the bid is void and terminated, and the Owner and General Contractor have no contractual obligation to the bidders. Work to be performed is subject to the conditions under Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). The Section 3 Preference will be utilized in determining the most responsive and responsible bidder, all bids must comply with these regulations.
