New Bus Terminal - City of New York

Plans call for a new bus terminal. As a result of an International Design Competition, The Port Authority has determine three alternatives for public scoping and short list evaluation. During completion of the current planning-level scoping, PANYNJ will continue coordination with FTA in regard to entering into a formal NEPA environmental review. The FTA requested to begin Federal Environmental Review and the Final Scoping Report has been posted on Port Authority website and submitted to FTA. The next steps include a public comment period, drafting the environmental report, another public comment period and creating the final environmental report. As of August 16, 2022, an architect has been selected. Although a firm construction timeline has not been established, the project is not expected to begin until 2024. The Port Authority Bus Terminal is anticipated to be completed by 2030.
