Description Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (ORPI) is located in remote southwestern Arizona, 35 miles south of Ajo, Arizona on AZ Highway 85. The work site is near the Visitor Center, which is approximately 5 miles north of the US/Mexico border. Organ Pipe Cactus NM is 125 miles from Phoenix, and 173 miles from Tucson. Ajo is the nearest town offering lodging, gasoline, repair services and food. This project requires the removal and replacement of components with new parts to Well #4 (South Well). To include replacement of motor, pump, electrical pump controls and switches. 2 inch galvanized drop pipe or approved equal, 3/4-inch sounding tube and wiring harness, and electrical control switches. Pre- testing of well flow and static water drop of old well. Video of well after pulling the components and before installation of new parts. Video shall be given to the NPS for review and approval. The video quality shall be digital or MP4 quality that should be placed on a jump drive and give to the CO, COR and PM or Inspector. The well inspection report will reflect the video and references depths, joints, problems, and any other significant discovery of the well inspection. Well depth - 414 feet. Casing - 12 inch Steel. Drop Pipe - 2 inch galvanized. Pump Setting - 399 feet. Static water level - 352 feet.
