Description

Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment/tools, staging, hoisting, trucking and supervision that he/she deems necessary in order to complete, in a thoroughly professional and expeditious manner, all the work described hereafter with these specifications. All work shall be according to code and approved by the proper authority. Contractor will obtain necessary permits and complete all required inspections Methuen Public Schools will provide access to water and electricity. All material and debris shall be cleaned up immediately and removed from the building/grounds offsite by the contractor to a legal dumping area, leaving the premises in a clean condition. Contractor shall conform to all requirements of state and local laws, including prevailing wage laws. The contractor will be responsible for repair of all damage to the building due to the negligence of its workers. During the contract period the vendor will abide by all fire and safety regulations. District/School Security Policies must be observed at all times. Smoking on public educational facilities is prohibited at any time. The vendor will be responsible for the prompt correction of all defects. Contractor must assume total responsibility for the actions of any/all subcontractors. The individual purchasing entity reserves the right to solicit competitive quotations for items of work at the discretion of the purchasing agent. Purchases made by Methuen Public Schools are exempt from state sales and federal excise taxes and material prices must not include such taxes. Tax exemption certificates will be furnished upon request. Methuen Public Schools reserves the right to directly purchase material to be installed and/or used by the successful contractor. Deadline for Bid Questions 3:00PM Tuesday, May 9, 2023 a bid security of CASH, CERTIFIED CHECK, or BID BOND issued by a responsible bank or trust company licensed to do business in the State of Massachusetts in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid. bonds shall be prepared by and supplied by a surety company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If the bid price is over $150,000 a performance and payment bond of 100% of the total bid price will be required. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) workdays after the date set for the opening thereof. Methuen Public Schools reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids or take whatever other action may be deemed necessary to be in the best interest of Methuen Public Schools.
