Rock Salt - Supplemental Supply

Minimum specifications for rock salt to be used for thawing ice. Indicate with a check mark in the blank space to the left if your firm can comply with each specification. List all exceptions on a separate sheet of paper citing the number of specifications from which you are deviating. 1. Salt to be of fresh stock. Reclaimed stock will not be accepted 2. Rock salt must contain at least 97% Sodium Chloride and shall meet the following size requirements: Retained on 3/9" mesh-maximum 3% Retained on a No. 8 screen - 50 to 90% Retained on a No. 16 screen - maximum 90% 3. Blue Tracer if available. 4. The City of Glendale reserves the right to increase by 100 tons the quantities stated in this bid to meet an increased demand brought on by severe winter. Any increase is to be sold at the bid price and under the terms and conditions of this bid for a period of six (6) months from the date of this award. If you do not agree to this provision, please delete and initial. This statement should not be construed as a commitment to purchase additional salt from your firm. 5. Truck load delivery to be made by telephone order as needed. 6. To be delivered F.O.B., 721 Bismark, Glendale, Missouri 63122. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities or technicalities in the bid process and to accept the bid, which in the judgment of the City will be in the best interest of or be most advantageous to the City of Glendale.
