Description

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Salisbury, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot. Civic Center Glen Ave Loading Zone/Road Improvements -- existing project - In conjunction with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and Becker Morgan, a Road Diet study is being conducted in FY21 to analyze current and future traffic patterns on Glen Avenue and to make recommendations for potential road improvements. The objective is to improve safety at the venue by creating a safe load/drop-off zone for patrons on the Flanders side of the building and to improve safety for pedestrians crossing Glen Avenue to and from the venue. The Department would work with MPO, Public Works, the City of Salisbury and other agencies to consider potential reconfiguration of traffic patterns on Glen Avenue in order to implement recommended improvements. Additional measures to increase safety for pedestrians may also include extending the sidewalk westward down Glen Avenue and creating a crosswalk area from Wicomico High School onto the Civic Center campus. As of June 14, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
