Description

The Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority (Steamship Authority) invites qualified and experienced Filed Sub-Bidder (FSB) firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the "Prequalification for Filed Sub-bidders to Provide Filed Trade Subcontractor Services for the Woods Hole Ferry Terminal Landside Reconstruction This is Round Two of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ), the first part of a two-step Invitation for Bids (IFB) process as provided in M.G.L. c 149,/4. Based on the SOQs received in this Phase I, the Steamship Authority will select respondents it deems to be prequalified in accordance with the criteria set forth in the RFQ. The Steamship Authority anticipates notifying respondents whether or not they are prequalified for this project by April 10, 2023. In Phase II, the prequalified respondents will be invited to submit filed sub-bids in response to an IFB which the Steamship Authority anticipates will be issued on or about April 10, 2023. The Steamship Authority is prequalifying FSB firms for the following FSB trades for this project (with estimated costs as indicated): Glass & Glazing ($1,638,000); Acoustical Tile ($448,500); Resilient Floors ($53,000); and Elevators ($170,000). All other FSB trade services already have been prequalified in round one ONLY FSB firms prequalified for this project in this Phase I will be permitted to submit filed sub-bids in Phase II The project delivery method for construction will be design-bid-build. The project includes the construction of two new buildings - a new terminal building, approximately 7,000 gross square feet in size; and a new utility building, approximately 9,000 gross square feet in size. The site of the project is located at the Foot of Railroad Avenue, Woods Hole, MA 02543. The project work also includes associated site work for utilities, storm water drainage, new paved parking, bus berth, vehicle staging areas and landscaping he project team includes the Steamship Authority, Owner Project Manager William J. Cloutier, and Project Architect BIA.studio. The Steamship Authority anticipates it will issue a Notice to Proceed with the project in June 2023, that limited on-site work on the project will commence in August 2023 with full mobilization in mid-September 2023, and that construction will be completed 36 months from the date of the Notice to Procced. At the time a FSB firm submits its SOQ it must have a DCAMM Certification in the Trade Contractor Category for which it is seeking to be prequalified and submit a copy of its Certificate of Eligibility and Update Statement with its SOQ for the required Update Form. This required SOQ is different from DCAMM Certification; all FSB firms must be prequalified with the Steamship Authority for this project, even if the FSB firm is already DCAMM Certified in the trade category for which it is applying. The successful respondent must be able to obtain bonding for the estimated construction cost of the sub-trade work. All further public notice information regarding this project, including the prequalification evaluation criteria and selection process, is included in the RFQ, which is available to interested subcontractors as set forth above.
