Description

The dock structures at the Balzano and Broadway terminals are divided into five cathodic protection sections named Berth 2, Berth 3, Berth 4, and Berth 4 Extension at Balzano Terminal, and Pier 5 located at the Broadway Terminal, and consisting of individual pipe piles and sheet piles which are supposed to be electrically continuous by bonded cables. Each berth contains a separate impressed current cathodic protection system. Berth 2 is approximately 360' long; Berth 3 is approximately 500' long; Berth 4 is approximately 750' long; and Berth 4 Extension is approximately 300' long. Pier 5 is a former dry dock and is approximately 900' long.
