County: Buncombe, Burke, and McDowell Project Description: Heat Straightening Steel Beam Repair The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for heat straightening steel beam repair of Buncombe Bridge Number 387 over US-19/23, Burke Bridge Numbers 129, 144, 147, 169, and 173 over 1-40, and McDowell Bridge Number 173 on 1-40 over NC-226 in Buncombe, Burke, and McDowell Counties. Firms that wish to perform work on Division Purchase Order Contracts as either the prime contractor or as a subcontractor on the project must be prequalified for the type work they wish to perform. Firms that wish to bid on these projects as the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to submitting your bid. Firms that wish to perform as a subcontractor to the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to beginning work on the project. Any firm that wishes to bid as a prime contractor shall be prequalified as a Bidder or PO Prime Contractor prior to submitting a bid.
