Whitfield Avenue at Prospect Road Intersection Improvements

Consists of upgrading a signalized intersection with new mast arms on a 4-leg intersection including ATMS component upgrades, Urban right turn lane widening for multiple legs of an intersection, over 2,500 LF of new sidewalk including residential driveway replacements, ductile iron potable water main replacement of an existing mains and apertures installed before 1980 within an Urban intersection. Construction will meet Manatee County Public Works Standards including Manatee County Highway, Traffic & Stormwater Standards and Manatee County Utilities Standards Manual. It will also comply with Manatee County Infrastructure Engineering Standard Specifications and with Division II and III of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) phasing and sequencing plan must be provided to minimize traffic impacts and with no lane closures. Dewatering may be required to upgrade an existing signal and replaced a utility within an intersection. Care must be taken when replacing existing water mains and apertures installed before 1980 within an Urban intersection.
