Description | Old Tampa Highway Bridge Over Shingle Creek Maintenance 1. Background: 924145 is the bridge known as "Old Tampa Highway Bridge over the Shingle Creek Tributary." This bridge is inspected by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) every two (2) years. Utilizing the inspection report and additional reviews, the set of plans was created to address scour and maintenance issues. These plans have been reviewed by the Florida Department of Protection and Constructing (FDOPC) in compliance with the plans will remove this bridge from the list of scour critical structures. 2. Scope of Work: This project will consist of replacing expansion joint seals, repair minor spalling, guardrail replacements, cutting back vegetation, installing reflectors and barrier delineators, slope protection, and construct rubble rip rap. NOTE: A Right of Way permit will not be required for this project. A General Permit was issued from South Florida Water Management District and all terms and conditions must be adhered to (49-1051165P). 3. Contractor Pre-Qualification: The Prime Contractor shall be Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Prequalified per Chapter 337.14 F.S. and Rule 14-22 F.A.C. in the following Work Class: 27. Minor Bridges 4. Governing Standards and Specifications: Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Standard Plans dated 2021-2022, and Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction Dated July 2021, as amended by Contract Documents. Question End Date 3/24/2023 2:00 PM Performance Bond Required Yes Performance Bond Amount 100% of total amount awarded under this project. Bid Bond. Where applicable, each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equaling 5% of the total bid. Payment and Performance Bonds: The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond and payment bond, equaling one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount awarded under this project, as security for the good faith performance of this project and for the payment of all persons performing labor and supplying materials on the project and furnishing materials in connection with the project. The bonds shall be written by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Florida and shall be in a form satisfactory to the County. Receipt of said Performance and Payment Bond shall occur no later than ten (10) days after award of this project. No commencement of work shall be authorized by the County without receipt of the Performance and Payment Bond. County reserves the right to reject all bids. |
