Description

The property is developed with an elementary school built with a steel structure and a brick masonry facade that was originally constructed circa 1996. At the south side of the school, southwest of the main entrance, there is an entry door with a portico (Photo 1). The portico has two exterior sides with lintels, supported by a column at the interface (Photo 2). Step cracking of the brick facade has been observed on the southern exterior side of the portico. The eastern exterior side of the portico has occupied space below at the northern side of the wall. Water infiltration has been occurring in the area where the east portico wall interfaces with the occupied space. The lintels consist of hung steel plates supported by steel I-beams via vertical plates welded to the plate and beam. The work generally consists of installing through wall flashing at two elevations of the portico walls, andothermiscellaneousrepairs.
