AS of August 10, 2022, an awarded construction manager has been selected. Original budget for this project was $14,525,000 but is now estimated at $12,000,000. The following bid packages have been released. An RFQ deadline has been announced but not a bid due date. The scope of the project consists of 69,267 square feet of interior up fit to their existing main campus building. The program spaces will include nursing, birthing & medication labs, a wellness center, campus bookstore, computer & tutoring labs, administrative & cashier offices, veterans, women, & minority mentoring centers, new restrooms, testing center, chemistry lab, science & general classrooms, and a conference center with full kitchen. The renovated facility will serve FTCC for many years to come. The existing building is structurally sound and currently in use. The existing building is sprinklered and will remain so. The building is type IB construction, protected steel frame. A portion of interior partitions will be demolished, while all load-bearing structure will remain unchanged; slab openings will be made for an elevator shaft & various PME penetrations, with added structural support. The exterior appearance is to remain unchanged. Materials selected for this building will complement the existing building as well as include materials used by the Owner on similar projects across the campus to provide cohesiveness for various building designs. The interior partition walls will typically be 3-5/8 inch or 6 inch metal stud with GWB. The building will have either open, gwb, or acoustical lay-in ceilings. The floor finishes are to match the remainder of the building - carpet tile, vct, epoxy resinous, & sealed concrete. Restrooms will have ceramic tile floor and partial ceramic tile wall finish.
