Description

Currently the sewer line from the Agency's Maintenance shop (the Scale House and Landfill Office Trailer sewer line tie into the shop sewer line) is connected to the leachate collection system line. In the past this has lead to multiple issues with the performance of both the shop sewer line and the leachate line. Due to the current connection, methane gas migration has caused the gas to backflow into the Maintenance Shop, the Scale House and the Landfill Office Trailer. The current connection also has caused the leachate lines under the landfill cells to become clogged with mud from the vehicle wash bay in the Maintenance Shop, degrading the performance of the leachate collection system. This project would disconnect the Maintenance Shop sewer line from the leachate collection system line and run a new dedicated sewer line connection. This project is in included in the City of Dubuque FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 17, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
