Correct Pharmacy Physical Security

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky has a requirement for construction services to perform on Project 603-20-707, Correct Pharmacy Physical Security Deficiencies. The intent of this project is to provide all labor, material, equipment and expert supervision needed to complete Exterior window openings in the basement storage room (A-005D) filled by reinforced concrete masonry unit (CMU) and painted to match existing adjacent materials in color. The exterior will be parged concrete to match the existing adjacent materials in color. The exterior will be parged concrete to match the existing adjacent concrete panels. The existing storage room (A-005D) shall receive a CMU reinforced wall and hollow metal door to replace the existing chain-link fence and gate. The Pharmacy Drug Vault door is to receive a General Services Administration (GSA) class 5 vault door within the existing 6 “CMU wall. A new opening in the CMU wall between the Flame Vault and the Narcotics vault shall be cut to combine the two rooms. The existing Flame vault door shall be removed and filled with reinforced CMU to match existing adjacent material. The floor of the Flame vault has approximately 3” of the sloping concrete that will be removed as part of this project. At the Pharmacy Optifill room, a bullet resistant pharmacy teller window will shall replace the existing teller window. A metal sheet and 3/8” gypsum board will be installed over the existing wall between the Service Elevator Lobby and the adjacent Pharmacy. Upon release of the solicitation, drawings and specifications will be made available detailing all the work to be performed.
