Description | The RES contracts will provide the EPA with a contract vehicle to acquire remedial and removal action services where the release, or threatened release, of hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants pose a risk to human health and the environment. The anticipated multiple award service contracts will be procured under FAR Part 15, and will be awarded under a single national solicitation. Multiple awards are anticipated. Work performed under these multiple award contracts will be ordered via the issuance of task orders and will be competed pursuant to the fair opportunity process of FAR 16.505. Generally, task orders will be issued on a project or site specific basis and can be issued as fixed price or time and materials type task orders. The primary focus of these contracts will be to carry out the EPA-lead Remedial Action (RA) or the site cleanup phase of the process. The RA phase is the implementation of the remedial design, which will typically be completed under the DES contracts. Therefore, these contracts will include a construction component. Some examples of the projects implemented under these contracts may include, but are not limited to: - Dredging or capping of sediments - Excavation of contaminated soils - In-situ source or groundwater treatment technologies (chemical/biological/thermal) - Construction or demolition of buildings - Construction of treatment systems - Capping of contaminated soils or sediments - Construction of in-situ or ex-situ barrier walls - Well installation - Offsite transportation of contaminated waste(s) - Backfilling and Re-vegetation | ||||
