Description | As of August 8, 2022, this project is seeking municipal approval. Timelines are not confirmed however this is anticipated to be completed by 2028. A GC has not been confirmed. Here is a breakdown of each building, per the proposal released from public sources: The hospital: The 231-bed Level 2 trauma center would comprise 565,525 square feet and stand 165 feet tall. It would include an emergency department and imaging on the main level; a surgical unit with preoperative and postoperative services on the second floor; clinical lab, pharmacy, dining area and roof terrace on the third floor; inpatient units on the next six floors; and a helipad on the roof. The cancer center: This component would cover 107,239 square feet at 60 feet tall, with radiation oncology in the basement; oncology clinics, clinical lab and Life With Cancer program on the first floor; infusion, pharmacy and administrative space on the second floor; and clinical outpatient space on the top three floors. This space would operate as an extension of the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, which is based at the Inova Center for Personalized Health campus in Merrifield. The specialty care center: This building would consist of 88,085 square feet at 65 feet tall with a lobby, café and prenatal testing on the first floor, as well as clinical outpatient space on the second and third floors. The parking: The proposal includes 1,510 parking spaces, of which 950 would be located under the hospital and in a 60-foot-tall above-grade garage north of the hospital. The hospital would also take 550 spaces in the existing Landmark Mall parking structure, the only part of the mall that will not be demolished. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
