Description | Provide complete fall protection safety measures as defined in the drawings, including guard rails, ladder positioning devices, and grating. Include all accessories as required for a complete installation. Refer to specifications and drawing photo sheet for additional requirements. Aeration Tank 5: Remove and dispose of existing guard rail access assembly – patch holes in concrete. Install new fixed, surface mount guardrails, transition plate and grating platform as noted. 4. Aeration Tank 6: Remove and dispose of existing guard rail access assembly. Install new fixed, surface mount guardrails and grating platform as noted 5. Both Tanks: Provide Mfr. standard stainless-steel ladder positioning device (for securing a removable ladder) mounted to Aeration Tanks 5 & 6 as shown on drawings. Relocate electrical and control equipment as required to accommodate new work – provide new to match existing for all damaged or deteriorated components affected by this work scope. Repair deteriorated concrete as indicated. 6. New safety systems design and installation must comply MIOSHA / OSHA standards and 2015 Michigan Building Code requirements. 7. Application of new fall protection safety systems must strictly follow the attached specifications. Installers to be certified by manufacturer, provide sealed engineered drawings, structural calculations for attachments to structure, and provide certification of equipment upon completion of installation. 8. Provide a 1-year Contractor Warranty for repairs. 9. Existing steel surfaces that are abraded by this work scope are to be brush painted with a cold galvanizing compound in compliance with Mfr. recommendations – Tnemec 90-97 Tnemezinc, Carboline Carbozinc 11 HSN, or Amercoat 68MCZ or ZRC product with 95% pure zinc dust. 10. Any existing paint damaged by work scope is to be touched up with paint as specified on drawing A-1, Item 6 to match existing. Abraded steel components are to be cold galvanized prior to painting. 11. Provide details of all attachments of new components to existing components for Owner’s Engineer review and approval. Contractor assumes responsibility for all altered components and must ensure that they continue to function as intended. 12. The integrity of all tank systems must be maintained at all times. Any damage to systems must be immediately repaired as part of this scope at the Contractor’s expense. 13. Provide (1) blank copy in electronic .PDF format to Owner of Manufacturer’s standard yearly inspection checklist form to document information required to be verified at each yearly inspection for all systems provided under this work scope. Form to include recommended procedures and guidelines for all inspections. 14. Hot Work Permits are required for any welding operations performed |
