| Description | This project will provide funding for the widening of Davis Road. Davis Road is a County maintained roadway that begins at the intersection of Highway 417, extends to the intersection of 101 and spans 12,000 feet in length. The existing roadway needs to be widened in order to better accommodate traffic and improve safety for motorists. This project would reclaim and widen the road, install new asphalt pavement and pavement markers, and improve the associated roadway's storm water conveyance system. This improvement is part of a multi-project plan to improve overall traffic flow and safety on Davis Road. General obligation bond proceeds are recommended for funding this project. This project directly supports Council's strategic vision by being a core component of the County's infrastructure plan. The project also improves services provided to citizens by upgrading a roadway in a highly traveled corridor of the County. As of November 1, 2021, this project is currently in the Spartanburg County'sFY 2021-2025 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
