Description | Engineer’s Estimate. The Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Costs is approximately $2,662,410 base bid, or $3,351,824 with Alternates 1 & 2 included. The project work is generally described as the rehabilitation of pavement of up to eight (8) streets throughout the City, including approximately 3.5 miles of street striping on 7 additional streets, several sections of sidewalk (curb, gutter, and ADA curb ramp) installation, and rehabilitation of the specialty stamped crosswalks in the downtown business district as further described in the bid package. Work shall be completed within a max of 109 working days (base bid within 70 working days, alternative 1 within 24 working days, and alternative 2 for 15 working days) from the date when Contract Time commences to run. City specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. City may reject any and all Bids and waive any minor irregularities in the Bids. A California class “A” contractor’s license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. The successful Bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the Project, and related requirements contained in the Contract Documents. Copies of the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the Contract, as determined by Director of the State of California Department of Industrial Relations, are on file at the City’s Public Works Department, may be obtained from the California Department of Industrial Relations website and are deemed included in the Bidding Documents. Upon request, City will make available copies to any interested party. Also, the successful Bidder shall post the applicable prevailing wage rates at the Site. |
