Description | Questions regarding this IFB shall be submitted via Bonfire by 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Bonfire will not accept questions after this time. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond of 5% of the total bid price. Payment and Performance Bonds each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price, with a corporation surety satisfactory to Metra, will be required to assure performance of the Contract. Any attorney-in-fact who signs any bond must attach to each bond an effective copy of his power of attorney, the date of the bond specifically including such date within the authority conferred thereby. Metra reserves the right to accept any Bid, or any part thereof, or reject any and all Bids. Permits and licenses of any nature necessary for the prosecution of the work shall be secured and paid for by the Contractor. The Contractor shall give all notices required by and otherwise comply with all laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations, including the safety rules and regulations of Metra, bearing on the conduct of said Work. All disputes concerning the payment of prevailing wage rates or classifications shall be promptly reported to Metra for decision or, at the option of Metra, referral to the Secretary of Labor. The decision of the Secretary of Labor shall be final. Providing temporary power provisions throughout the course of the project to maintain service during yard business hours. Shutdowns shall be scheduled 10 business days in advance and shall occur outside of business hours. Include all premium time necessary. B. Business hours are considered 6AM-5PM CT. All trackwork and outages must take place outside of business hours. All other work can be completed during business hours. C. Replace existing Central Wayside Power Unit Substation with new Unit Substation with walk in enclosure. D. Shift locations of Wayside Power Boxes 2 and 6 to new locations. E. Provide new conductors to existing Wayside Power Cabinets. F. Demolish Panelboards for Wayside Power Boxes in Welfare Building and replace with North Wayside Power Switchboard in walk in enclosure. G. Associated sitework for complete installation of new systems. |
