High Service Pump Repair

Repair a horizontal, split case pump, designated HSP-4. The pump is an Allis Chalmers, Model 150, 8 X 6 X 17L, located at the Athens Municipal Water Authority Water Treatment Plant located at 5200 FM 2495, Athens TX, 75751.The selected Contractor shall be responsible for the on-site removal of the pump, performing the required maintenance off site, then return the pump items and reassembling the unit. The repair work shall include, but may not be limited to, the following items: 1) Initial on-site inspection of the pump, tear down, and removal of all or portions of the pump needed for rehabilitation. 2) Removal and replacement of shaft sleeve to accommodate specified mechanical seal. a) Provide cost as alternate to fabricate or purchase new 416 stainless steel shaft to replace the existing. 3) Clean and inspect existing stuffing and box and machine as needed to accept new seals, or provide pump specific stuffing box intended for mechanical seal. 4) Remove existing air release valve from the upper volute case and replace with threaded plug. 5) Replace bearings, O-rings, and gaskets. 6) Inspect and replace rotating and stationary wear rings if needed. 7) Trim existing impeller as instructed by City of Athens. a) Existing diameter of 17” may be reduced to 15” to match head curve of other pumps at this location. 8) Dynamic balance of rotating element. 9) Reassemble and align pump and motor. 10) Pressure test pump to ensure operation at duty point. 11) Clean exterior surface to remove all grease/oil.
