| Description | Conduct utilities mark-out and obtain clearance from each and every utilities company that have stake within and close to the projects' site. Strip the top 6 inches of topsoil from the top of the infiltration basin, including roots, and place into a temporary stockpile location within the basin. Excavate the infiltration trench to the design dimensions. Place excavated materials at least 10 feet away from the edge of the infiltration facility to enhance trench wall stability. Remove/trim tree roots. Excavate to depths as shown, or as directed. Do not excavate with vertical side walls. Maintain a side slope gradient of maximum 1.0:1.0. The bottom of the infiltration facility shall be separated by at least two feet vertically from the seasonally high water table. Roughen/till the bottom and the sides of the excavation at least 6 inches using an equipment's finger. Place 6 inches of narrowly graded aggregate meeting 100 percent passing a 1-1/2 inch sieve and 0 to 5 percent passing a No. 8 sieve (ASTM D 448). Level the top of the aggregate. Place aggregate (without mixing) in 12 inch loose lifts, and level the surface before placing additional lifts. Place a 4 to 6 inch layer of the stripped topsoil over the final grade of the aggregate material.
