Description | QUESTIONS DUE BY June 21, 2023, at 4:30 PM The State of Vermont reserves the right to obtain clarification or additional information necessary to properly evaluate a proposal. Vendors may be asked to give a verbal presentation of their proposal after submission. Failure of vendor to respond to a request for additional information or clarification could result in rejection of that vendor's proposal. To secure a project that is deemed to be in the best interest of the State, the State reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, with or without cause, and to waive technicalities in submissions. The State also reserves the right to make purchases outside of the awarded contracts where it is deemed in the best interest of the State. Unless otherwise provided in the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall secure and pay for all permits and governmental fees, licenses and inspections necessary for the proper execution and completion of the Work which are customarily secured after execution of the Contract and which are legally required at the time the bids are received. Contractor shall comply with the regulations and requirements of any insurance company which issues a policy on any part of the work or site. Vermont Prevailing Wage Rate Requirements. Vermont law requires this project comply with the prevailing wage rate requirements set forth in 29 V.S.A. 161(2)(b)(c)(d) The primary objective of this project is to make necessary envelope repairs to the McFarland building. The scope of work shall include installing a new thermoplastic polyolefin roof, asbestos abatement for the caulking on the parapet wall, masonry repairs in multiple locations, removal and installation of new siding and wood trim, window replacement, and a small renovation located in the penthouse to incorporate the replacement of the R-22 Liebert units. The CM shall work with the design team to accelerate the completion of the masonry repointing bid package to allow abatement, repointing, and brick repair to be completed ahead of the roof replacement, in anticipation of the roof replacement work completed during the 2023 construction season. Miscellaneous siding repair and interior repair work shall be prioritized to eliminate future water infiltration. The project estimate, which includes all pre-construction and construction services, costs and fees, General Conditions, Cost of Work, and project contingencies, is $1,500,000.00.
