Backflow Prevention Device Inspection and Certification

The work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all tools, equipment, materials, supplies, manufactured articles, transportation and services (including fuel, power, water, and essential communications), labor, and other operations required for the fulfillment of the Contract in strict accordance with the Contract Specifications and other Documents as defined in these Specification, all of which are made a part hereof. The work shall be complete. All work, materials, and services not expressly shown or called for in the Contract Documents, which may be necessary for the completion of the Work in good faith, shall be performed, furnished, and installed by the Contractor as though originally so specified or shown, at no increase in cost to the City. WORK INCLUDED Test and certify all City owned backflow preventer devices. A list has been provided for your reference; however, more devices may be added to this list. Repair or replace any failed backflow preventer devices. Then retest and certify the backflow preventer device. Complete and turn in all required paper work. o Make inspections and repairs on an as needed basis throughout the year. Test and certify non-City owned backflow preventer devices throughout the year at the request of the Utilities Department. Typically, between 10 to 20 per year.
