Diversion Channel - Midlothian Creek

The installation of approximately 1,300 feet of diversion channel, including clearing, topsoil stripping and stockpiling, excavation, soil stockpiling for Phase 2 work, sanitary sewer encasement, grading, landscaping, riprap and stone armoring, from W. 135th Street to the Cal-Sag Channel in Robbins, IL. The installation of three 42” diameter pipe culverts installed in three 54” diameter casing pipes and associated headwalls, tunneled in place under the intersection of W. 135th Street and S. Claire Blvd. in Robbins, IL. Total installed length is approximately 555 feet (approximately 185 per each of three culverts). The abandonment of existing 6”, 18”, and 36” diameter storm sewers, and installation of new 18” and 36” diameter storm sewers diverted to the proposed diversion channel, including replacement of existing and construction of new associated manholes and catch basins, and associated pavement removal and replacement, near the intersection of W. 135th Street and S. Claire Blvd. in Robbins, IL. d. The installation of a new public access to the Cal-Sag Channel, including clearing, excavation, grading, access paths, placement of rock, shore protection and plantings, and temporary isolation of the work area at the Cal-Sag Channel. e. The removal of existing and installation of new access road along the existing alignment of S. Woodlawn Ave. from W. 135th Street to the Cal-Sag Channel, including parking paved walking paths, and gravel utility access road.
