Description | The Shawnee County Department of Corrections is seeking bids to replace the fire protection over the day room ceilings of four living units of the Juvenile Detention Center facility. The current fire protection has delaminated from the ceiling structure and has become an overhead safety hazard. Scope of Work Remove acoustical drop ceiling system and current lighting fixtures. Remove /Reinstall HVAC vents as needed. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to ensure all above ceiling wiring is secured and not damaged during the project. Remove all existing fireproofing using best practices to minimize dust. Prepare surface as needed and reinstall fireproofing to meet current building codes and standards. Replace acoustical drop ceiling system to match current ceiling. Install new LED flat panel fixtures to match current fixture specs for lighting output. Because of population constraints only one living unit will be worked on at a time. When a living unit is complete and able to be repopulated we will move to the next living unit. Any required inspections shall be contractor's reasonability. A performance bond will be required for this project Background checks will be required of all onsite workers. Contractors will be required to follow current Department of Corrections protocols for Covid 19 PERFORMANCE BOND: The successful bidder shall furnish the County a performance bond in the amount equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of the contract.
