Description | As of May 6, 2022, bids received were rejected. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. Construction of a pre-engineered steel framed building including: 1. Modification of an existing concrete slab, including saw-cutting, demolition, material disposal, placing aggregate base material, and placing new reinforced footings. 2. Design, provide and erect a pre-engineered steel building as shown in the drawings. 3. Minor sitework, ramp construction. 4. Electrical work to provide outlets and lighting. Any questions may be addressed in writing via e-mail to Mark Hargrove, Senior Engineer at mhargrove@sjwd.org. Responses will be provided to questions submitted up until Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed forms and accompanied by cash, a cashier's check, certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form payable to the District in an amount not less than 10 percent of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond and faithful performance bond each in the full amount of the Contract price, and insurance with certificates and endorsements of insurance, as provided in the Contract Documents. The required bonds must be provided only by a surety insurer who is admitted to do business by and in good standing with the California Department of Insurance. Bidders are hereby notified that in accordance with Public Contract Code section 22300, securities may be substituted for any monies that the District may withhold pursuant to the terms of this Contract to ensure performance. The successful bidder must possess the following classification or type of contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board: Class A, General Engineering. To be qualified to bid on this Project, bidders must be registered and qualified to perform public work with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant section 1725.5 of the Labor Code. All subcontractors listed in a qualified bidder's bid as performing any portion of the work also must be registered and qualified with the Department of Industrial Relations. Bids that equal or exceed $1,000,000 must be accompanied by an Iran Contracting Act certification in the form provided in section 1.9. The attention of bidders is directed to the requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and prevailing wage rates to be paid to all workers employed under the Contract in accordance with Labor Code sections 1770 and following. Copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages are on file at the District's office, and will be made available to any interested party on request. In accordance with Labor Code section 1771.4(a)(1), this project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The District reserves the right to reject all bids. Any bid not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract Documents may be rejected. The District may extend the time to award the Contract. |
