Description

The project is in Mecklenburg County, within the city limits of Charlotte. The project begins at the south from the I-277 overpass, Bank of America Stadium to W. 7th Ave. for the northern project limit. The track project is associated with the federal and state funded intercity passenger rail component of the Charlotte Gateway Station Project and will be seeking DBE participation. A mandatory pre-bid will be held by NSRC on July 15, 2021. The project consists of track construction of approximately 5,850 track-feet with wood ties, ballast complete by truck delivery. 5 track turnouts will also be required to be assembled onsite. Rail, ties & OTM other than the noted track ballast will be furnished by NSRC. Approximately 6,300 Ton of ballast for construction of the track listed above is to be truck delivered to the site. Additional minor clearing and grading will be conducted for a small segment of additional track roadbed preparation. Qualified contractors are invited to submit a Letter of Interest via email to Owner to express interest in bidding this project.
