Description

This project will be bid and awarded in accordance with G.S143-128 and G.S. 143-129, and the Federal Uniform Guidance for projects involving funds. Work of the Project includes renovation of the Central Office building; an existing one-story, 14,353 square foot facility. The renovation work includes demolition of the existing interior partitions and ceiling tiles system, construction of new interior partitions and ceilings/soffits, exterior window replacement, and new window and door openings. The Work includes all general, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and lowvoltage trades. Exterior building work includes gutter, downspouts, soffit and fascia replacement. Related site work will include concrete sidewalks, ramp, and recoating/striping of the existing parking lot. All questions after that time shall be submitted via email to the Design Consultant at SfL+a Architects, 333 Fayetteville Street, Suite 225, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601 via email to: centraloffice@sfla.biz Complete plans and specification may be downloaded from the SfL+a Architects' ShareFile portal by acquiring a link by sending an email to: centraloffice@sfla.biz . Contract documents are also available for review at Harnett County Schools school maintenance offices, 1500 South Main Street, Lillington, NC 27546 during normal business hours - call ahead for availability (910-893-4808). Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee of five percent (5%) of the bid in cash, certified check or a fully executed Bid Bond. The deposit shall be retained by the Owner if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required herein. (General Statutes of North Carolina, Chapter 143, Article 8, Section 129.) No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be required to furnish 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Labor and Material Payment Bond. Bidders are required on school construction and renovation projects covered by N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-128 to make a "good faith effort" to meet minority participation goals. Biddersshall identify on its bid the minority businesses that it will use on the project. Bidders shall submit along with the bid an affidavit listing the good faith efforts it has made pursuant to subsection (f) of G.S. 143-128.2 and the total dollar value of the bid that will be performed by the minority businesses. A bidder that performs all of the work under the contract with its own workforce may submit an affidavit to that effect in lieu of the aforementioned affidavit otherwise required under this subsection. The Harnett County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids that are considered to be in the best interest of the School System
