Description | Renovation of a detention facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.New fully addressable fire alarm and detection system at Spring Creek Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs Colorado. The project consists of the installation of a new, fully addressable fire alarm and detection system at Spring Creek Youth Services Center (SCYSC) in Colorado Springs Colorado. SCYSC is an existing institutional Group I-3, Condition 4 Occupancy. The building is two (2) stories in height and is approximately 90,605 square feet in area, including exterior courtyards areas. The building is fully sprinkled. The existing fire alarm system will be removed in its entirety. A new fire alarm system will be installed throughout as indicated on the drawings. A new Simplex 4100 ES Fire Alarm Control Panel will be installed. The removal of the existing fire alarm system will be completed in phases and coordinated with the Owner. The phasing plan for the project will be further developed in conjunction with the awarded contractor after the bid phase. Notice is hereby given to all interested parties that all firms will be required to meet all minimum requirements to be considered for this project. To be considered as qualified, interested firms shall have, as a minimum: 1. Provided General Contracting services within the last three (3) years for at least two (2) projects each in excess of $ 750,000 (hard costs) of similar scope, utilizing the expertise present in their Colorado Office; and 2. Demonstrated specific General Contracting experience in projects of similar scope and complexity; and 3. Demonstrated bonding capability up to $1,000,000 for an individual project coincidentally with current and anticipated workloads; provide letter from surety that affirms this capacity. All Questions are due May 20, 2022 at 5:00 pm and all answers will be provided by May 26, 2022 at 5:00 pm. All questions and answers will be posted by addenda on VSS.
