Description | Work will consist of the removal of stream debris, which impede stream flow or navigation as determined by the Project Inspector. Only trees and debris that have entered the stream shall be removed. No tree stumps should be removed from stream bank and no sediment should be removed from the stream. Loose stream debris should be placed so it is not on the flood plain and so debris will not re-enter the stream or cause any additional erosion problems. When work is finished, critical area planting of any disturbed stream banks will be required if deemed necessary by the Project Inspection. Any actions outside of this scope of work that will require additional permits and are not allowed. Burke County and Burke Soil and Water Conservation District is requesting proposals from experienced vendors that specialize in stream debris removal work. The scope of work and all other details and requirements are included in the bid document found in the documents section. All bids must include the Bid Proposal Form. The County of Burke reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids not deemed to be in the best interest of the County, to cancel the RFP in part or in its entirety, or to waive irregularities. Questions are due Friday, October 7, 2022, at 2:00 pm local time. All questions should be directed by email to: brian.nieft@burkenc.org. Answers to all questions will be posted Funding for the project expires on June 30, 2023. All work must be completed and invoiced no later than June 30, 2023. Every effort should be exercised to complete the stream debris removal project and satisfactory inspection of same in a timely manner. |
