Description | Harper College - Building B: Central Steam Boiler Plant Upgrades Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, structural, painting, integration, control system replacement and integration to BAS system, provide eyewash stations, and civil scope of work at the central steam boiler plant in Building B includes but is not limited to: 1.Replace two (2) high-pressure steam boilers, and associated steam, condensate and feedwater piping. 2.Retrofit the existing deaerator feedwater and transfer pumps with variable frequency drives. 3.Replace the two existing make-up air units with packaged direct gas-fired units. 4.Provide a new standalone boiler control system to control and monitor the new and existing boilers and deaerators. Bids to be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope to the Harper College Purchasing Department. Bid security of 10% of the aggregate of the Base Bid amount and all Alternate Bid amounts is required. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and Certificate of Insurance will be required. Bids shall be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: Harper College, Purchasing Department, located in A-Building, Room A-217, 1200 W. Algonquin Road; Palatine, Illinois 60067. H.No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety days after submission without the consent of the Board of Trustees. Any bid submitted unsealed, unsigned, fax transmission, e-mail, or received subsequent to the aforementioned date and time, may be disqualified and returned to the bidder. Harper College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the College. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidder must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws. Contractors shall pay not less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). Bidders shall comply with Business Enterprise Program: Participation and Utilization Plan developed by Harper College. There is a 30 percent aspirational goal on the contract. Additional digital copies of the construction documents shall also be available on compact disk from the printer at no additional cost upon deposit and pickup of a hard copy set of the construction documents. The successful bidder will enter into a Contract with the Owner in the form of an Agreement as provided in the Project Manual.
